The DRESS.

I think I have expressed before how much I loathe seeing yet another bride in yet another strapless poofy ball gown. Perhaps it's a mid-western thing, but I have been to a lot of weddings lately (and of course, stalking Facebook pictures) and all the brides seem to be wearing the same thing. It's not that they don't look beautiful, it's that I feel like I'm at the same wedding I was a month ago.

And contrary to popular belief, it is NOT flattering on all figures! So please, if you're looking for a wedding gown...go here (for ideas only, clearly, as no one can actually afford these).

My friend Emily, a delightful, smart, and hilarious young lady residing in St. Louis, turned me on to New York Weddings. She is FAR better at wedding research than I and sends me fantastic links all the time. This is one of them. There are a THOUSAND different ways to go with your wedding dress!

Feathers, mermaid, lace, off-the-shoulder, colors, even a MINI-DRESS for the daring bride! I feel like some girls get stuck in thinking "Poofy ball gown = wedding." Not true. Every bride has a unique style, and it's so worth it to try on EVERYTHING...even the most outrageous...

Okay, perhaps peacock feathers aren't the way to go. But it's been my experience that a bride wants her wedding day to be the best day of her life. And choosing a dress that makes you feel like a million bucks is an important step in that direction.

Okay, okay. Even if it is a poofy ball gown. If you insist. :)

stay fab,

care
